Centres of Vedanta/Ramakrishna Movement

The Ramakrishna Math and the Ramakrishna Mission have a network of branches all around the globe. With their faith in the inherent divinity of man and equal validity of all religions taught by Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda, the Math and Mission are inspired by combination of the best principles of the East and West.
As Swami Vivekananda said, the East has to learn from the West the conquest of external nature while the West has to learn from the East the conquest of internal nature. The two cultures are thus complementary to each other.
Giving emphasis on the idea of Swami Vivekananda, both the Ramakrishna Math and the Ramakrishna Mission gradually extended their spheres of activity, as result of which a number of branches in different countries of the world came into existence. Presently, the Ramakrishna Math and the Ramakrishna Mission have 177 branches all over the world including the Headquarters at Belur (near Kolkata). Besides these branch centres, there are about a thousand unaffiliated centres (or ‘private centres’) all over the world started by the devotees and ardent followers of Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda.
